Tools - EFT and Reiki

 Have you tried EFT

This energy meridian therapy, which involves tapping on a series of meridian points, is an excellent modality! It's very effective on its own, and a wonderful compliment to Reiki.

In EFT, points on the upper body (head, chest and hands) are tapped in a specific pattern - often as you repeat an affirmative phrase.

Several years ago, I enrolled in online EFT courses with Graham Nichols, and I enjoy occasional group sessions with a local practitioner.

In a conference call, Graham suggested we choose a couple of positive characteristics, and tap on them morning and evening for the next 14-28 days. This is a lovely 'next step' following our 14 day Reiki challenge! Some possibilities:
  • Ease and Well-being
  • Love and respect
  • Love and forgiveness
  • Joy and gratitude
  • Confidence and excitement
  • Comfort and balance in times of sorrow
Some wonder if combining Reiki and EFT might result in "too much" energy ... on the contrary, I feel they compliment and support each other! Including a flower essence bouquet which helps balance the issues can offer additional support in our Healing journey.
Borage - comfort and courage
So - what are some ways we might combine EFT and Reiki?
  • Graham recommends beginning and ending sessions with a simple heart activation technique, place your hands on your heart, and breathe in and out, imagining the heart being activated with refresh breath. This is a perfect time to invite Reiki!
  • During Reiki self-treatment, visualize the points and silently repeat your affirmative phrase, "Now that I feel filled with energy and well being, (energy and well-being, energy and well-being, ...) I deeply love and accept myself."
  • Tap on the Reiki principles: Today I release (worry, anger), I will (honor my teachers and elders, will show integrity) I am grateful!
  • 3 minute EFT sequence for Anxiety / worry
  • Alternate Self-Reiki and EFT, perhaps using one in the AM, the other in the evening for a week.
Second degree Practitioners and Masters:
  • Mental/Emotional - tap about the issue, then do several rounds of your positive phrase, and finish with a M/E treatment with hands on your Forehead and Occiput (draw the M/E symbol on your palms) 5+ minutes
  • Use the M/E symbol to gain insights on the core issue for yourself/a client, then tap on the issue (as specific as possible) and finish your session with tour affirmation and M/E treatment (self or for client) 10+ minutes
  • Send (Distant) Reiki ahead to your Future self, and tap on a upcoming challenge
  • Empower any session for deeper healing.
Do you include both EFT and Reiki in your personal practice?

I'd love to hear your experiences and tips!
You're invited to join the 14-28 day Reiki /EFT  challenge!

  2. I have tried EFT and it worked for me when I really needed it. It's not a regular practice though.

    1. Thank you, Lily - My own practice is pretty sporadic as well!
I was really 'sold' on its value when my middle granddaughter (then 14) was suffering anxiety, and she had a series of sessions with my friend Karen.
For several months, I'd come over in the evening and support her routine, which included tapping and going outside at dusk to stimulate the pineal gland (for melatonin production) ... Karen also encouraged her to tap before running (ale was in cross country) - and to notice that many of her peers were quietly tapping as well!
She doesn't use it often these days (19) but it's a tool of and needs it!
