Reiki 2

Image
When I took First Degree Reiki in 1989, I knew I wanted to continue with the trainings, and eventually, to open the Reiki door for others . The next step on the path to Mastery the Second level, or Okuden . A year later, I was able to take that step.  Some time ago, my  ᏦᏍᏓᏓᎸ (tso-s-da-da-lv /  Sister)  in Reiki, Sheila King , wrote: 'Going deeply into your heart           Going deeply into your healing                     Opening yourself to the light ... 'The Japanese word Okuden means 'the Deeper knowledge'. To take Second degree Reiki means to open to deeper levels of Reiki and to yourself. Reiki on all levels is like  light in our lives, shining in all the dark corners, bringing us into alignment with our Higher Selves.  'First degree is like a flashlight shining within us. As we complete the shifting this illumination brings, we are ready to welcome the brighter stronger...

Reiki Precepts

Image
When I took my first Reiki class in the fall of 1989, my teacher Annalise taught us the 5 Reiki Principles or precepts, and invited us to work with them as we 'cleared the pipes' for Reiki to flow, and practices being more present. Neurographic doodle on 'Presence' As I began teaching several years later, I was surprised when students from other Masters told me they hadn't realized the Principles were 'really' part of Reiki! Translated, part of the inscription reads, 'Thus, before the teachings, the 'Ikun' (admonition) of the Meiji Emperor should reverently be told and the Five Precepts (gokai) be chanted and kept in mind morn...

Reiki Anniversary

Image
This month marks my 30th anniversary as a Reiki Master -  When the student is ready ....  A friend calls it holes - when you know something's important, and you need to do it, but - why? I can trace my "introduction" to the healing modality I'd been seeking to a harp concert  (by a 2nd degree practitioner!) 9 months before, in a bookstore about an hour away. Who could resist Karen Brunner's title, "Out of the Silence, Into the Wind" ... And her tape, Where the Dragons Come to Drink - recorded the summer before during the Lion's Gate portal, 8-8-88. So I was drawn to that January concert!  ... After the amazing concert, I looked for the right book , picked up one on Chiron (Barbara Hand Clow's), the wounded healer ...  That fall, I saw an announcement for a talk on Chiron - at the same bookstore that hosted the concert! The catalogue was in the Mail, when I returned from offering a talk to on asteroids to a local Astrology group - how could I No...
