Clearing Old Stories

Image
What stories run your life? Can you imagine learning ways to identify and clear the ones which no longer serve? Can you feel into living unrestrained by the old patterns? Reiki and the soulful story process offer you that opportunity! Many of us live with past beliefs and old responses, which keep us from living the lives we long for. When we bring those old stories to light, we have a Golden opportunity to change the script. Reiki and Intentional Creativity alchemise the transformation, making a path for true change. The Reiki principles offer a set of guidelines which can help us define core values and  Soulful Story Cards change the stories. Adapting them from  principles set forth by the Meiji emperor, Reiki founder Mikeo Usui offered these ideals to his students: For today only Anger not  Worry not With appreciation do work To others be kind Show gratitude Reiki and Intentional Creativity offer many tools for personal growth and positive shifts...

Energy Exchange

When Usui & Hayashi taught Reiki in Japan, they taught within a tradition that honored and respected wisdom keepers and their teachings. The Reiki Principles remind us to: Today only anger not worry not With appreciation Do work To people be kind Mind body change it for better Usui Reiki method Lakshmi Goddess Lakshmi means Good Luck to Hindus. The word 'Lakshmi' is derived from the Sanskrit word "Laksya", meaning 'aim' or 'goal', and she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. She is dressed in red, with cascades of coins flowing from her hands. She is a Mother Goddess, Mata, & her month of celebration is October. In the mid 90s, a friend told me she saw an association with Lakshmi, & I found a small statuette at the Crystal Wizard . I read about Mata Lakshmi, & gave her a fluorite throne, & surrounded her with rose petals, coins, other symbols of abundance. Here's a traditional Lak...

Happy Birthday Hawayo Takata!

Image
This beautiful December day, with sun shining bright, I wish to honor teacher Hawayo Takata, who was born on Dec 24! Hawayo Takata "It all began as dawn was just breaking over the Garden Isle of Kauai. The day would be Christmas Eve, 1900. In the home of a young Japanese couple, a mid-wife was helping the young mother deliver her third child. Many young people had come from Japan to this island of flowers to work in the flourishing cane industry, and this family was living in the village of Hanamaulu, near Lihue. ... when the mother looked at that tiny, squirming, wailing bit of humanity, she thought to herself, 'if she is ever to amount to very much, she must have a very big name.' Then the idea came to her to name her after the Big Island, Hawaii, changing the last letter to 'O' because girls names ended in O.' ... 'Give her a bath and wrap her in a new blanket. Then face her to the sun, put your hand on her head and say three times, 'I NAME Y...

CMT Club

Do you belong to the 'Can't Miss a Thing!!' Club? I used to. I'd often get sad or mad if I missed an event - especially if I found out AFTER the fact! The friend who invited me to their 'party,' that was, in fact, their wedding reception (private wedding) Quite a few of their special friends missed the event, as they'd kept it TOO secret! ...  The time Amy Tan came to our local college to speak - I knew she was coming, but not when ... my gentleman friend called to let me know, & our receptionist didn't think whatever he had to say was important enough to leave me a message ...  The days there are 4 or 5 choices, & I only have time/energy for 2 or 3 of them .... Over the years, I've found it's better - for me - to prioritize, & only do what feels important, feeds my energy, delights me! Family time generally comes first; I love dance opportunities, but at the end of the week, may prefer to simply tuck in at home with a book...

Honoring

Honor your Parents, Teachers & Elders I honor the elders come to study Reiki with me. It's such a blessing when I observe those with more life experience choosing to embrace skills that will subtly & powerfully influence their families, their communications, their way of being in the world. I honor my own parents, for being open minded & open hearted, for sharing family wisdom & teachings, for exampling a good way of being in the world. My mother's family passed down a gift of healing touch, my father a gift of music. I honor the children who teach me, snuggle me, enjoy the harp, giggle, accept Reiki 'fairy magic'as a birthright. The young elders, who live & breathe joy & wonder at being in these lovely physical bodies, this wonderful world, this precious life! I honor the teachers in my life past, present, future. My dear piano teacher, Marion Coe, who shared a love of music with lots of technique & theory to give a good foundation. ...
