Reiki shares
In the late 80s when I was first attuned to Reiki, the classes I took were small, and the exchanges were one-on one. At Breitenbush, I experienced group sessions at our PNW Reiki gatherings, and in my classes, but only occasionally with visiting Masters.

When I moved to the Oregon coast in the fall of 1994, I began offering Reiki classes and Initiations for the community.
Shortly after arriving in Neskoin, I met Anita, who had taken Reiki 1 & 2 before moving to Oregon. Anita knew she wanted "Personal Mastery," and thought Reiki might be the vessel she sought. Was I willing to take her as a student? ... Yes!
Anita loved Reiki circles, and offered to host and help facilitate shares or Circles for our community! We offered several classes together, and Anita taught our group a lot about holding space, from her experiences with Reiki, and at the Findhorn community in Scotland.
A decade later, I met with a small group of health care professionals monthly, and we explored different modalities. We included a Reiki share as part of this several times.
On one of our Global Reiki Webinar calls, Phyllis Furomoto recommended receiving Reiki weekly throughout the year, and for a block of several days each month... but most of us just don't do so regularly!
Reiki shares offer a time to, as Takata recommended, 'Let Reiki teach us.' Practioners have a chance to give and receive sessions, and anyone interested can experience Reiki. Most shares are open, and attendees don't need to be initiated to participate!
A share generally includes a check in circle, sending distant Reiki to those who've requested healing but can't attend, and then hands-on sessions, utilizing 1 or more tables. We may choose a precept for focus, and share experiences before closing.
It can include some Q and A, but isn't a class or training.
